Netflix Approved Cameras May 2023

Introduction

I last looked at Netflix approved cameras in July 2022. Since then have been added the ARRI Alexa 35, Canon EOS R5 C, Sony FR7, Blackmagic Design URSA Mini PRO 12K OLPF, Red V-RAPTOR XL 8K VV, Red V-RAPTOR 8K S35 and Red V-RAPTOR XL 8K S35. No cameras have been removed.

Just because a camera is not on the list does not mean that it cannot be used for video production. However, the inclusion of cameras give an indication that they can be suitable for serious video production.

Of particular interest to social media producers will be cameras using the Canon RF, Panasonic L and Sony E mounts. These are relatively affordable, high quality, modern, more high volume systems.
